Serving the community under the proud banner of the SPFPA, members of Local 603 continue to demonstrate what union solidarity looks like in action.
On June 14th, Local 603 volunteers dedicated their time to a membership-only, low-income grocery store in Orlando, assisting a vital local charity. Their efforts included writing heartfelt thank-you cards to the organization’s major donors—an important gesture that helps sustain ongoing support. In the past, Local 603 members have rolled up their sleeves at this same organization by stocking shelves, collecting carts, and cleaning—always ready to lend a hand where it’s needed most.
Then, on July 19th, Local 603 volunteers once again stepped up, serving as line servers at the Kirkland family reunion.
This event was held in support of activist member Deme Kirkland and Victoria Estrella, both strong voices in our union and our community. The turnout and support were a reflection of the unity and strength that define Local 603.
Whether it’s helping families put food on the table or standing with fellow members at personal milestones, Local 603 continues to lead by example—reminding us all what it means to serve not only on the job, but in our neighborhoods.
