The Largest Security Union in Puerto Rico Unión de Profesionales de la Seguridad de Puerto Rico (UPSPR), with over 300 members working at the Department of Federal Protective Service Facilities located in Aguadilla – Puerto Rico Arecibo, Puerto Rico Bayamon, Puerto Rico Caguas, Puerto Rico Carolina, Puerto Rico Fajardo, Puerto Rico Guayama, Puerto Rico Guaynabo, Puerto Rico Humacao, Puerto Rico Manati, Puerto Rico Mayaguez, Puerto Rico Ponce, Puerto Rico San Juan, have merged with the International Union, Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA).
This merger comes on the heels of the National League of Justice Security Professionals (NJLSP) joining the SPFPA, bringing in over 350 Officers earlier this month.
These two back-to-back mergers reconfirm that our Union, SPFPA, is and will remain the Global Authority of Security Police Unions!
Our new members in Puerto Rico will continue to be served by a full-time representative who works and lives on the island. We want to congratulate and welcome all our new members to our SPFPA Pride!
In addition, we want to send out a special congratulations to International President Dave Hickey for his role in negotiating these mergers.
