In preparation for the SPFPA Eighteenth Constitutional Convention, scheduled for June 2026, International President Dave Hickey, joined by Secretary-Treasurer Don Eagle, Region 2 Vice President JB Smith, Melissa Schihl, and Julia Easterly, were warmly welcomed by Local 603 at Walt Disney World.
During their visit, the International team met with Disney Creative Studios to begin planning the upcoming Convention, which will bring together Local Delegates from across the nation.
Between productive planning sessions, the team took time to explore Disney and connect with the dedicated members of Local 603—meeting officers, expressing appreciation, and gaining deeper insight into their daily work.
A special highlight of the trip was a guided tour hosted by the Disney World K-9 Unit, where Officers Shawn and Rob showcased their operations and demonstrated the impressive skills of their K-9 partners. The team also had the privilege of meeting Doc Wilcox, a talented graphic artist whose creative work is featured on the SPFPA website and across our media platforms.
The International team was truly inspired by the professionalism, dedication, and teamwork displayed by all.
Local 603 President Patty Jellison ensured the International team felt right at home—introducing new officers and proudly showcasing the incredible work being done by her members.
